An Update to ‘Audio Archiving’: A Mindful Alternative to Photography

Earlier this year, I shared my thoughts on “audio archiving” as a more mindful way to capture memories. Since then, I’ve continued to build a collection of recordings that allow me to revisit the special moments I’ve experienced. Each time I listen, I’m reminded of the environment, the atmosphere, and the feelings tied to those moments.

Here are a few of my favorites from this year so far:

A chilly morning walk on the Brighton Beach boardwalk, NY:

A night in Calle Ocho, Little Havana, Miami:

Stumbled across a church choir on Princeton’s campus:

An Uber from Xochimilco to Mexico City:

Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco. Seals!!

Looking ahead, I’m excited to capture new experiences and the sounds they will bring…
