90-days of Giving: When things get rough, apply the Golden Rule!

Let’s face it… life isn’t always fair.

We all face adversity, disappointment and hurt – in our personal and professional lives. Some of it you control. And some you don’t.

But what if everyone reading this reacted to a negative circumstance by doing something positive for others?  I have a fundamental belief that when you experience adversity, disappointment and hurt, that the reaction should always be the same. Go do something meaningful for someone less fortunate than you – because there’s always someone that needs a helping hand. It can be as simple as shoveling snow for an elderly neighbor, sweeping a driveway, picking up groceries, serving at a local shelter, or donating to a non-profit that aligns with an interest or passion. The list is as broad as your imagination.

I am proud to share that in addition to our ongoing commitment to causes in Uganda, student volunteers at SMUS in Victoria, and multiple non-profits nominated by employees throughout 2024, we’re diving into multiple acts of service in the next 90-days:

December 6-8

Hurricane Milton clean-up work in St. Petersburg, FL – in support for rebuilding efforts for Sustainable Families. Working alongside several clients and a family we helped to rebuild after Hurricane Harvey, in Beaumont, TX. Love those guys!

December 21-31

Employee giving matches for non-profit donations.

January 31 – February 2

Volunteering at Embracing our Differences in Tampa, FL

February 21

Entire Ideba team volunteering at Second Harvest kitchen in Savannah, GA – as a part of our QBR.

 

As is often the case at this time of year, people will often ask “how was your year”. As we ultimately measure our success at Ideba based on how much we give back, I am pleased to confirm that we have given more this year than ever before – donations, time, and in-kind creative services.

A great week to give thanks for the Ideba team, advisory board, and the incredible clients we get the pleasure of working with every day that make it all possible.
