I always get a chuckle out of certain LinkedIn photos and what the owner is trying to communicate in their choice of photo. I’ve decided to do what I do best and poke some fun at my favorite people as examples, and fully expect some retribution for doing so. Kinda lightweight if they don’t take a swipe back at me as I don’t even have a photo! Click on their name for a link to each person’s profile.
The first example is Mark Romano who is clearly trying to get in touch with his feminine side judging by the background on his photo. Could this be the worst LinkedIn photo back-drop ever?
Then, there’s the “I like to travel a lot” image portrayed by my good friend Travis Lee
And I can’t help but wonder if James Rice is having an identity crisis, as he changes his “cool dude” photo more often than anyone else: Guess that’s a part of constantly being on the bleeding edge!
Then there’s people that have photos of themselves on stage at conferences or participating in round tables… the smart dudes!?
And I’m really not sure what to make of Webcam photos, which I always thought of as more Facebook than LinkedIn.
And to wrap in style, there’s the true “aspirational shot”. Check out this profile photo of my old friend Mike Terry, who is so NOT corporate jet, but totally uses the opportunity to dream big. If you know Mike, this has to go down as one of the best LinkedIn photos of all time!
What does your LinkedIn photo say about you? What are some of your favorite profile photos?
