One of the things I appreciate about working at Ideba is the company’s focus on giving back to the community. Ideba has partnered with West Union Elementary in Hillsboro, Oregon to help provide school supplies for classrooms, sponsoring assemblies to encourage students, and organizing a yearly fundraiser. We distribute the supplies to the students and staff at the beginning of the school year, but there is quite a bit of work that goes in before that ever happens.

This week is when the supplies arrived at the school on palettes in the back of a long-haul truck. We spent a chunk of the morning working as a team and with John Allen—West Union’s principal—to unload the truck, transport everything into the gym, and organize the supplies by grade level. It was fun to work together as a team in an entirely different context than we normally do.

In addition to supporting West Union Elementary, Ideba has partnered with PODA to support Mpondwe Lhubiriha Secondary School in Uganda. This is our third year sending members of the Ideba team to visit the school and work with students. They are taking off this week. We’ll provide updates about the trip in future blog posts and on Twitter and LinkedIn. Be sure to follow us if you want to hear more about the trip.
